⚛️ LANDAU

Linux And Neo-Depositorium Associated Unity

🧪 What is LANDAU?

LANDAU is an umbrella project that unites the efforts of the Russian open‑source community in the development of key system components.

The project’s name pays tribute to the outstanding theoretical physicist and Nobel laureate Lev Davidovich Landau — the founder of a scientific school that educated generations of scientists. Just as Landau brought physicists together around new ideas, LANDAU aims to unite developers in building a common technological foundation.

🎯 What are we developing?

LANDAU covers a wide range of open‑source projects that are critical for the system ecosystem:

📅 Events and discussions

We host meetups and conferences (RULKC Meetup #1, OSDevConf 24/25/26) to gather feedback from engineers and companies, identify market needs, and jointly design the architecture of the future fork.

🎙️ Event list

• Open Mic #001: “Forking the Kernel. Engineers for Engineers, or What Does LANDAU Have to Do with It?”
  • 📅 Date: March 27, 2026
  • ⏰ Time: 20:00
  • 📍 Format: In‑person / Online
  • The first open discussion about the practical engineering motivation for creating a fork, its goals, and the problems it can solve.
